Mel joined the firm in 2000 upon his admission to the New Brunswick Bar. His practice focuses largely on labour and employment, as well as debtor/creditor law and general litigation.
Education:
Mel graduated from Saint John High School in 1992,and went on to complete a Bachelor of Arts with a major in Political Science at the University of New Brunswick in Saint John. Mel obtained his law degree from the Univeristy of New Brunswick in 1999.
Work For the Profession:
Mel is actively involved in the Canadian Bar Association as the Chair of the Young Lawyers, and is an executive member of the Labour and Employment Group. Mel volunteers considerable time to his profession by teaching seminars and courses in his areas of practice, including the Bar Admission course of the Law Society of New Brunswick.
Outside Our Office...
Mel and his wife Stephanie live in the heart of beautiful uptown Saint John. Mel enjoys being actively involved in the Saint John community, including volunteering with the Saint John Theatre Company and the historic Church of St. Andrew and St. David. One of Mel’s more adventurous goals is the completion of his training as a Reserve Force Legal Officer with the Canadian Forces.
