Bob joined the firm in 1989, and quickly brought his expertise to the development of a busy litigation and business law practice.
Bob’s civil litigation practice includes work on personal injury claims. He also has an extensive commercial litigation practice in which he negotiates, mediates, and litigates claims for businesses, banks, and municipalities. Bob provides business clients with legal services tied to commercial projects, financing, and secured transactions.
Education:
After graduating from St. Malachy’s High School, Bob attended the University of New Brunswick and completed a Bachelor’s of Business Administration in 1980. He spent several years in the banking sector, before becoming involved in the oil and gas industry in Western Canada. He obtained his Bachelor of Law degree from the University of New Brunswick Law School in 1985.
Professional Interests:
As a complement to his practice, Bob remains affiliated with various legal groups and associations. He has served as the president of the Atlantic Provinces Trial Lawyers Association, and as the New Brunswick chair of the Canadian Bar Association’s Municipal Law Subsection. He has lectured and written extensively on matters relating to his areas of legal expertise, such as Creditors Rights, Insurance Law, Negligence, Liability and Damages, the Fundamentals of Litigation, Municipal Liability, Wills, Estates and Trusts.
Bob is an instructor with the N.B. Bar admission program, and continues to teach and lecture his peers through many continuing legal education programs. He has written articles, lectured, and chaired legal conferences for many organizations including the Atlantic Provinces Trial Lawyers Association.
Outside Our Office…
Bob has dedicated much of his spare time to various community initiatives. He recently served as the chairperson for the Red Cross Humanitarian Awards, and commits considerable time to fundraising on behalf of charitable organizations. He is currently chairing the Major Donor Division for a significant fundraising initiative for the Imperial Theatre.
Bob has served as a director with the board of the Saint John Airport Inc., he was appointed by the provincial government to study and make recommendations on local government in greater Saint John, and served as chair of the advisory committee for the Saint John Foundation. He is a past director and president of the Kidney Foundation of Canada.
In his personal life, Bob’s priority is his family, but he also finds time for several hobbies. |
